FUNDAMENTALS OF DISCIPLESHIP
A KINGDOM HEART – XXVI
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they
shall see Elohim.
Last week’s post ended with this comment:

The concepts discussed in last week’s
post were likely brand new ideas for most readers. New things tend to scare us, especially if
they differ from well-established ideas.
They should not be shunned. They
should be considered, studied and brought to IAUE for confirmation, correction
or discarding.
The purpose of this blog is to aid
fellow believers in their discipleship to the Master, Messiah Yahushua. This requires much more than simple doctrinal
presentations. Believing right things is
not enough. Belief must have corresponding actions; but those actions must be
based on revelation of the Truth, not just belief in correct doctrines. If you will remember from earlier posts, most
believers accept doctrines in the same way we embrace certain TV
advertisements. We may “believe” in a
product; and we might even recommend it to others; but we have not actually
“purchased” and experienced the reality of the product. We are commanded to “buy the truth,” not
merely believe in it (Proverb 23:23). It becomes
necessary, at times, for us to understand the mechanics of how things work; and
that requires a diagnostic approach to matters.
Most people have regarded the heart as
synonymous with “spirit” or with “soul.”
This understanding will prevent the believer from understanding much of
Scripture. Once there is understanding
of the position and the mechanics of the heart and how it functions, it will
give way to an ability to more thoroughly experience truth and to process more
of the Scripture that we read and study.
The heart of man is the very depths of his soul and
the outermost portion of his spirit; and yet, it is with man's body that he is
made aware of the physical world around him. His senses of sight, smell, taste,
touch and hearing provide him with the information that explains his physical
existence. With his soul (mind, will and
emotions) he processes all of that sensory input into a usable format,
evaluates the data, then makes decisions as to how his body will
interface with that physical world.
It is with man's spirit that he is made aware of the
world of the spirit: IAUE, the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Messiah, angels,
cherubim, seraphim, demons, Satan, and all of the activity that occupies that
sphere of existence. Man, however, is born "with the lights turned
off." His spirit is alienated from the life of IAUE Elohim. Prior to
coming to Messiah Yahushua in repentance, the spirit of man has no capacity to
receive and to transmit the sensory input of the spiritual world to the soul of
man that he might evaluate that information and make the decisions that would help
to govern his existence. This capacity, however, is the universal experience of all who have been
born of the Spirit by faith in Yahushua Messiah. The Light of Elohim is
imparted to their spirit which has become united with the Spirit of Messiah,
and a whole new world is opened up to them...the world of the spirit. There is
a sixth sense turned on inside of them, and their minds are now having to
process data from a brand new source.
How old were you when you repented and
gave your life to Yahushua and were born of the Spirit? I was 18. I know people
who were in their 30s, their 40s their 60s...their 70s. For all of the previous
years our minds evaluated data being sent to it only from five sources: sight,
taste, hearing, touch and smell. That was reality to us. The physical world was
real. We may have been taught religious studies. We may have grown up believing
in the spiritual world; but it was not real to us by virtue of legitimate
interface with it. We had no sensory perception of it. That is why the world
says, "Seeing is believing." The activity of our lives, our soul’s choices, was
based solely on our evaluation of the input from our physical senses. We
learned how to think and by what standard to make choices. These became deeply embedded programs in our
mind (Proverbs
14:12, 16:25). Now, all of a sudden, as a newborn disciple of
Messiah, there is a sixth sense that makes us aware of things spiritual.
This experience, however wondrous and entertaining
it may be at first, often becomes a problem for many professing disciples.
Every single thing that is being conferred upon the heart of man from his newborn
spirit, confirms that Yahushua Messiah is Master. As the soul processes the
information that his conscience helps him to
understand, his unrenewed
mind soon revolts at the prospect of no longer being in control, and then
the war begins. Can you see this struggle in your own experience?
Can you understand more fully now, the reason why Paul exhorts us in Romans
12:1-2 to be transformed by the renewing of our mind that we might know the
will of Elohim? Consider some of the information
that is transmitted through the conscience to our understanding from this new
portal of awareness:
"If you save your life, you will lose it."
"If you lose your life, you will find it."
"Give, seeking nothing in return."
"My strength is made perfect in weakness."
"Elohim resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble."
"If you lose your life, you will find it."
"Give, seeking nothing in return."
"My strength is made perfect in weakness."
"Elohim resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble."
But the training our minds have already
received, which is confirmed constantly by our five physical senses, says:
"Look out for #1."
"I am the captain of my ship."
"What's in it for me?"
"Nice guys finish last."
"The strong shall survive."
"I am the captain of my ship."
"What's in it for me?"
"Nice guys finish last."
"The strong shall survive."
What part of us does the world see? The
body. It sees what we do in the body.
What decides what the body does? The
soul. The mind and emotions process and evaluate our options, and
the will makes the decision what we do in the body.
Until the day we came to Messiah, the
world knew what it could expect from our lives. Now, our lives are under new
management. Until our minds are renewed, however, there is internal conflict
with the instructions we are receiving from this new management. We may still
be concerned about what people think of us, and resist Elohim's will for fear
it will embarrass us. We may become aware that Messiah's direction for our life
runs counter to our own well-planned life goals. The problem is...the sensory
input coming through our conscience to our understanding is relentless, seeking to bring our lives under the
authority of the Master.
James
4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the
friendship of the world is enmity with Elohim? whosoever therefore will be a
friend of the world is the enemy of Elohim.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
So, what do we do? We have one of two choices. We can repeatedly resist the grace of IAUE and harden our heart such that it is no longer sensitive to the sensory input from our spirit; or we can pick up our cross daily and follow Messiah.
James 4:6 But he giveth
more grace. Wherefore he saith, Elohim resisteth the proud, but giveth grace
unto the humble.
There really should not be any option in
the mind of the disciple of the Master, Yahushua Messiah. What were some of the
very first words our savior said in His "sermon on the mount"?
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they
shall see Elohim.
The "pure in heart."
That means there is no defilement in their heart, no hindrance to the flow from
the Spirit of IAUE into the spirit of man, to the conscience, through the heart
to the understanding, unto full embracing by the soul of man, so the “Word
becomes flesh” by manifestation in the body. Their hearts are not impeded by
any hindrances of self-will, mental programming, “personal issues,” pride or
resistance to IAUE’s will. The flow of all that IAUE invests into their spirit
has perfect clarity in transmission through the conscience to the
understanding, because their minds earnestly desire to know and to do His will.
They keep their heart with all diligence, knowing that out of it flow the
issues of life. To the pure in heart, that sixth sense will work perfectly.
Kingdom
heart: a heart that offers no resistance to the
performance of the will of IAUE.
