RENEWING THE MIND – XIII

THE WORD OF IAUE - 4
…..

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of IAUE.

So far, in our study of renewing the mind, we have “reset” our basic understanding of what the “gospel” actually is; and NOT what we have been told it is for the past 1,700 years.  We did this in order to better understand what the Master’s expectations are of those who bow their knees to him; which is something far different than what is produced by preaching “Just ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and receive him into your heart.”  The only way to respond to “the good news that Messiah has appeared” is to repent.  That does not mean to feel sorry for the bad things you have done.  It means to turn away from all behavior that is disobedient to the will of IAUE; to cease fighting against his dominion over you; and to embrace his right to rule your life entirely.  If this is not how we “think” about Messiah, our thinking is still producing death within us; and we need to renew our minds.

Having reset our foundation, we began to examine the source of information upon which we are to rely to renew our minds.  It does no good to change the way we think if we are still thinking incorrectly.  We must learn to think with the mind of Messiah, trained by the words of IAUE; and the Scriptures we study, regardless of the translation, are to serve as a platform for listening to and hearing the voice of the Spirit of IAUE teaching us all things and guiding us into all truth.

Try to imagine an infant at birth.  That baby’s mind is virtually a clean slate. He/she does not know the first thing about how this world works, what money is, what government is, what arts and science are, what history is, what mountains look like, what friendship is, what trees are, what animals are, etc.  The first thing the child truly knows is hunger and the discomfort it brings.  So, the very first thing that begins the education of the child is the selfish demand for food. “I want!” “I want!” The first thing the child learns is that regardless what else is happening around it or around the world, HE/SHE IS THE ONE TRULY IMPORTANT THING THAT MUST BE TENDED TO EVERY TIME HE/SHE CRIES.  The child’s experience actually bears this out as a truth…for a while.  Then there is that day of awakening when the parents let the child cry because they are not going to just jump every time the child wants something.  That is the day the child begins to learn the art of manipulation, because it does not learn in that moment that the parents are wise.  The child still believes its needs and wants are of the utmost importance.

Now, compound this initial experience of the child with years and years of living in this world learning exactly how things work, what gravity is, what centrifugal force is, what is the difference between hot and cold, what money can buy, what it is like to have very little money or a whole lot of money, what ego is, what acceptance and rejection are, what it is like to be popular or to be ignored, what religion is, what hurts and what feels good, what sickness and injury are, what doctors are, what is curable and what is not, what cruelty is, what kindness is, what is the difference between joking and taunting, what it is like to be very intelligent or just of average intellect, which animals are safe to be around and which are dangerous, what fashion is, what it is like to grow old and the effect it has on the body.  Years and years of training just how to get along in this world produces an encyclopedia of information and experience that teaches us exactly what we can expect given any situation or circumstance, and ultimately upon what we can rely to get the results we desire.  Welcome to the mind that needs to be renewed!

When we come to Messiah, our souls have been trained by the world.  Imagine your soul as filled with books, a literal library of material covering every subject.  You have read every book, and you have cultivated what you believe about every single topic.  Aha! There it is!  You know what you “believe.”  What you believe is based on the information you have collected and what your experience tells you about what you know.  Above all else, your experience has been the cornerstone of your belief; so those aren’t just stale books full of information in your soul.  They are the record of your philosophy of life…a philosophy that, until the day you are born of the Spirit, had no input from IAUE.

Day 1 – You learn you are forgiven.  Most think this means they are forgiven the bad things they have done, the things they regretting doing or the things that produced a sense of guilt in their lives; but that isn’t what they were forgiven.  The contemporary false gospel, however, leads them to “believe” that is exactly what has been forgiven; and that belief does very little to bring change to any of the recorded material in their soul’s library.  Their worldly experience is still in charge of their belief system, which is what rules their lives.

Day Eventual – You learn that you were forgiven of your acts of rebellion against the will of IAUE; and that you were created to do His will, not yours.  The ramifications of that revelation reverberate through your soul’s library; but no changes are made readily because experience is still your principle teacher.  If the Spirit says to give an amount of money to someone that reduces what you have left below what you know you will need by the end of the week, you disobey the Spirit because…you know how money works.  And so it goes with everything you are led to do by the Spirit.  His words versus your experience present a constant conflict.  This is why we see in the book of James:

James 4: 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with IAUE? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of IAUE.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, IAUE resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Compare this with:

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against IAUE: for it is not subject to the law of IAUE, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please IAUE.

Your soul’s library is the indoctrination of the flesh.  By choosing to comply with its teaching instead of responding in obedience to the voice of the Spirit of IAUE, you are essentially choosing the wrong side of a war, a war that your side cannot win.  The Spirit earnestly desires you to choose Him.  After all, He was given to you for this very purpose:  to teach you all things and to guide you into all truth.  Your former teacher was not at all interested in that objective. The problem, however, is you are going to choose what you “believe.”  That is why the command is given to renew your mind; to recognize that your life’s teachers have been wrong from “Day 1” and that what you have been believing all your life is based entirely upon lies.  The Spirit wants to rewrite your soul’s library and liberate you from the lies.  He is, after all, called the Spirit of Truth.

This brings us to the Word of IAUE.  Do we “believe” it?  Do we really?  Then why do we still choose to go with the information contained in our soul’s library of worldly experience?  If I were to ask churches across the world, “Do you believe what the Bible says?”  The resounding answer would be, “Yes!”  Some churches would probably break into a praise and worship service given half an opportunity to sing and dance around their confession that the Bible is true and that they believe every word of it.  However, what about:

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 16:23  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover

Galatians 5:24  And they that are Messiah’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Romans 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Hebrews 13:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of Elohim, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith IAE. And again, IAUE shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living Elohim.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of IAUE in Messiah Yahushua concerning you.

1 Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Philippians 2:14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

These verses are just the tip of the ice burg, so to speak, of the Scriptures we either do not believe or just plain ignore.  We do not believe them because they are not what our experience has taught us; and we ignore them because our selfish flesh does not want to yield to them.  What do either of these reactions have to do with the Truth?  IAUE wants the Truth in our inner man to rule our outer man.  The only way that is going to happen is to rewrite our soul’s library in faith…faith that the Spirit of IAUE is the Spirit of Truth; and the Word of IAUE may be trusted implicitly.

Kingdom heart: a heart that offers no resistance to the performance of the will of IAUE.
